We work with publishers of startups and established news organizations. Our clients are hyperlocals and statewide news organizations, for profits and nonprofites ranging in size from operations with less than $100,000 in annual revenue to organizations with budgets of more than $2 million. 

The NewzOps team takes a hands-on practical approach. Our work falls into three major buckets:

  1. Bridge services for news organizations faced with COO, CEO and CTO leadership departures. On an as needed basis, NewzOps provides backup logistical support while an organization seeks to fill these key roles. 
  2. Set up for Minimum Viable Operations. NewzOps establishes systems, policies and training support for publishers who want to optimize financial, administrative and HR operations. We also offer tech integrations and support for vendor adoption. 
  3. Discrete projects. The NewzOps team tackles one-off projects as needed. We have provided expertise to publishers in the following areas: set up  of financial management systems, from budgeting to bookkeeping to internal policies and cash flow projections; HR policies and systems (including editorial workflow); business and strategic planning, complete with a SWOT analysis; tech project management of WordPress features and system migrations.
